A Letter From God to His Beloved Daughter: Moving to College

Tomorrow I will be transitioning from the place I've called home for the past 18 years of my life to the college and small town that will become my new home. It is a place where I hope to learn and grow as I pursue my future career... A place where I hope to laugh and spend time with new friends and new teachers... But most importantly, it is a place where I hope to encounter Christ and continue to draw closer to Him. All summer long I have been trying to put into words the emotions I am feeling... Excitement, fear, doubt, and incredible joy. But the more I fixate on how I am feeling, the more confused I become. My mind is a swirl of thoughts... "How can this college possibly be the right place for me if I feel so conflicted? What if I get there and I struggle to make friends? Am I going too far away from home?" So today, instead of trying to explain my conflicted emotions and giving in to my worries, I am going to listen to God's words of wisdom. Here is a letter from God to His beloved daughters... Soon-to-be college freshmen like you and me. Join me in letting go of worries about the future and let us allow God to direct our path into a new chapter of life:

My dearest daughter, You are a jewel in the crown of my Creation. You are precious, rare, and beautiful to behold. Before you were formed in your mother's womb I knew you... and I have never left your side from the moment you first entered this world. From the very beginning, I have watched with joy as you journeyed to become the young woman you are today. I smiled when you took your first steps. I laughed as you played games with your friends on the playground. I wept with you when you were hurting. I burst with pride as you walked across the stage to receive your high school diploma. Now you are embarking on a new journey. A journey that may seem a little daunting, but nonetheless, a journey that I have designed for you. Do not be afraid, dear daughter, of what lies ahead. For I have been with you every step of the way, and I will not abandon you now. We will make this journey together. Even when you feel doubtful of your plans, simply trust in Me. I have been preparing you for this moment, and although you may not feel it now, you are ready for this new experience. I led you to this college because I know that this is the community where you belong. This is the place where you will find opportunities for learning and growth... Where you will form strong connections with people that care about you... Where you will discover the depth of my love for you and the incredible things I have in store for you. Cling to me, dear daughter. Pray when you are afraid or overcome by worry. Allow my peace to surround you and to fill your heart with joy. Enable my Spirit to work through you so you can accomplish the work of my Kingdom in this world. Let my truth set you free so you can experience the beautiful life I have created for you. Never forget how much I love you. Wherever you go, my love will carry you. Wherever you go, my strength will sustain you. Wherever you go, I will be with you always. ​Your loving Father in Heaven
