Meet Emelie

Welcome to Raindrops on Roses! I'm so glad you're here. It is my prayer that this site becomes more than just a blog or a web page, but rather a safe place where we can grow together as young women of faith, seeking to live beautiful and holy lives in the midst of life's storms. Raindrops on Roses is as much a ministry as it is a shared journey to come together in relationship with one another and with Christ.

So if we're embarking on this journey together, you probably want to know a little bit about your traveling companion.

Firstly and most importantly, I am a daughter of Christ. I consider my faith to be the most precious gift God has given me and I am constantly in awe of the incredible things He is doing in my life and the lives of those I love.

I am currently a college student in small-town Iowa, where I enjoy delving deep into my studies as a Public Relations major (I am crazy-passionate about words and how we can use them to express ourselves). I also LOVE jamming out to big band music, taking romantic afternoon walks, and hanging out at the local coffee shop with friends.

I am a total nerd and proud of it. I am that girl you see in the library, sniffing the pages of an old book, simply because there is nothing like the scent of yellowing paper stamped with black ink. (What can I say? I REALLY like words!) Classic literature is my go-to reading genre (not just because the books smell good) but because the words of authors from days gone by continue to capture my heart and make me re-think the ordinary things in life that I sometimes take for granted.

Dancing is how I like to let go at the end of a long day. Whether it be the elegant steps of a ballet adagio or the daring leaps and falls of a modern dance piece, I am a dancer, heart and soul.
